FAST provides a complete EFI kit that plugs into your factory sensors. This includes the XFI ECU as well as the XIM module which is required for the ignition. The kit also includes a replacement 90 mm throttle body that is cable driven since "fly by wire" is not supported. MDS is also not supported.
The 5.7 kit controls the coils same as the factory (waste spark for the extra plug). The 6.1 kit removes the 16 plug requirement.
The system can control the auto trans too.

yes dave at B&G chrysler and i think sct has something coming out. i wouldnt see why you would need this, unless it is a boosted engine or is making well over 500hp. just my opinion... why do you want to run aftermarket efi?

why does the drive by wire have to go...is it because of the huge lag everybody complains about...
if u cannot make your own harness, chris squire sells one for about 1k and a flashed ecm can be had for about 300 or so...starts and runs like it is a brand new car

Or you could jsut save boatlaods of money and build a normal engine for the car that has its own timing control (distributor), and a throttle cable and a lot more torque and less brittle parts. I work for chrysler, and I was trained on how the new hemis are built and have seen them apart etc. There is no way I would pay more than a real motor and put one of those in an old mopar and beat on it. PLUS if you ever broke it youd be spending lots of money to get any replacement parts. Just my

or could you could build the same thing everybody else has...let someone do something outside the box.
plus a new hemi, a retrofit harness, and ecm can be had for about 3500.
you might be able to save money, just depends what you already have available.
plus how often are you seeing 300s/magnums/chargers with any internal problems. your occassional valve spring broke and the rod knock on the srt's and thats about it.
i so go for it...

well the main shopping around you could do is for the engine. i actually know of one in columbus ohio for 1800$ a couple weeks ago. about the same price as heads, intake, and carb, for a small block. the harness is about 1k and ecm about 300 or 400. i stayed away from the fast or mopar set up because it is so much more additional cost. if u have any questions i would be more than happy to help. if u ran it in the dakota you would save a ton of money on the fuel system if it is port efi (later magnum). i would love to do that swap too..the wiring really isnt that bad that either

it is a magnum, I refer to the magnums as 5.2's and LA's as 318's
I guess the engine I am after is tons cheaper, its $1750 engine, trans, harness, and ECU.
I ran across an adapter plate to put a GM throttle body on one. So if the ECU can be hacked to recognize that, and not throw codes, I see that as half the battle.
As far as the Rx7 swap goes, the trans computer won't be a problem as I'll probably run a T56 behind it, if I can find a bell housing to do it.
I noticed one manufacturer had them, but also had 2 different bell's one for a LSx t-56, and another for a Viper T-56... which confused me.
I'd like to do the stock ECU if I could hack it, and retain the MDS..... as I think it would help with mileage on the truck.

I am assuming one for ingition, and one for fuel?
Summit sells the 301003 (not 301013) for $1800. Its the ECU only and the internal datalogging is only helpful for a racer. As long as you can take your lap top with you you don't need the internal datalogging function.
BTW: I sell 301003 for $1700
