I have a chance to buy a set of front bucket seats from an 09 Challenger for a good price. What would need to be done to get these to bolt into my car? My car is currently a factory bench seat car. I know I should put in a metal plate where I drill the two holes on either side to mount the seats. Also how could I create more leg room in the front as I am a big guy. Thinking I can have my factory rear set recovered in leather to match the new fronts. Any ideas?

I am doing this install on my 71 runner. For that floor pan, the seats are too tall. I am actually cutting and sectioning the floor to lower the seats to get my legs under steering wheel. These are srt power seats, so if you are using a different style, they ma fit better. And you will need to fab some brackets for the inside track, as the seat tracks are parallel and floor pans are higher near rockers

I did not realize the seats were that tall. I have only seen a pic of them. They are leather seats from an R/T. Would love to see some pics of your progress Hemibeep. I am willing to weld some brackets on the floor but don't think I will go as far as sectioning the floors.

I have to agree. They suit the new challenger but IMO would look way too bulky in an old car.

But I will add, you don't want to change to any seats that are going to sit you higher than stock. I did that in one car, thinking an inch won't make that much difference. Boy was I dead wrong. Totally changes the way you feel sitting in the car. It was acceptable but I won't go that route again.

hmm new modern seats vs old bench seat...seems like a no brainer to me...id love to have some lumbar in my 68 vert!

im putting a set of late model mustang seats in an early car...heights a big deal so there will be fabrication involved...its not going to bolt right in. I have heard that the buckets out of a sebring go without to much work tho!

I don't mind the look at all. The price of these seats is much nicer on the wallet than redoing an old set. Plus they are much more comfy. A lot of other stuff on the car will be modernized too, suspension, wheels, EFI, you know all the stuff to make it more reliable and driveable.
