I bought a set of rust free complete inner and outer wheelhouses off of a 68 4-door coronet after being told they would work on my charger. After looking at them the inners look the same but the outers looks like the lip might be about a inch lower than my chargers,I cant hardly tell because mine are rusted out.Can anybody please confirm if they are or are not the same. Thanks

does anyone repo the inner and outer for 69 coronet 2dr?

I was asked to contribute money to help solve the civil unrest in Egypt, but I suspect it's some sort of pyramid scheme.

Outers are available and fit tolerably. Inners need to be "worked" LOL

Hey is that my car? lol. Thats where mine where rotted. I replaced the trunk floor and full 1/4's but sitll have the crappy wheel houses. I wish I did something about them BEFORE I put the 1/4s on but that would have made to much sense i guess..

NMike, who is AMD and do they have an ETA? Im looking to have the car running around this spring and those wheel wells is the last big peace of body work i need to take car of.

all 68-70 b-body 4-door outer wheelhouses are the same as a Plymouth b-body two door. The inners are the same for all. Coronet 2-doors and Charger share the same outers.

I recently ran into major problems trying to use Goodmark's "Authentic Reproduction" Dodge B-Body outer wheelhousings on my 1969 Charger 500. I believe the same parts are sold by other vendors as well.

To read about the differences and other problems that I encountered check out my restoration thread starting at post #514...

http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,33799.510.html

I would get used wheelhousings or wait for AMD's repros...

Not a perfect solution, but when your trying to save one of these you do what you can. Perhaps the next generation of restorers will have better material and can redo what we've left behind.

Here is a major example of the problems with the Goodmark "Authentic Restoration" outer wheelhouse...

Here is another angle showing the mis-match before the black color was removed by plastic media blasting...

Here is what others have done to make them work... still requires other mods to the flange to make it barely usable...

Another problem area is the forward attaching flange...

I believe that the repros from Auto Metal Direct will finally provide the Mopar restorer with high quality parts. I received my first AMD part last week, the new one-piece Charger trunk floor... LOOKS EXCELLENT! If it fits well (and I believe that it will!), I will be buying all my repro sheetmetal from AMD...

Here's a picture...

The AMD trunk floor seems to have all the cutouts & holes... even the screw holes for attaching the filler tube seal!

Also, the metal sheet thickness seems to be correct or at least very near to the original... not half as thick like some repro sheetmetal parts are!
