3898870 is a 727 from a '76-'77 van with a 400 engine, it has the medium length extension housing and rear timing.

I've got one of those! It came attached to a 440 I bought recently for $100. It all came out of a 1976 full size motorhome. The block checked out fine with my ultrasonic thickness gauge and it came with the MH Thermoquad too. The block casting number is listed in my little 'white book' as available in 1978 but mine has a casting date of March 1976. The heads are '452's with extra cooling holes.

From my experience, you need to keep those heads with the extra holes matched to the block you have. I tried 906's on a MH block and could never get it to cool. My bud had the same problem. Just my Now you have a dime's worth!
