The objective is to build a GTX clone that will be drag raced and street driven. Hopefully mid 12 second ETs in street trim. It will be dark purple with custom interior. The 440 is from a 67 New Yorker with 43,000 original miles. It still had the plastic timing gear with no teeth missing. A bigger cam and ported heads are in its future

Nice car.......I have had mine for past 22 years. Bought it in '87 from the original family. Had one repaint and all original drivetrain. 318/727.

Looks good, I'm surprised how well the trim/bumpers held up after sitting for so long.

I've always wanted one of those cars. I saw one that exact same color at Carlilse this past year - interesting color - and you don't see it often. Nice project, and good luck getting her together. Keep the pics coming!

Here is Jaybird working on his 440. It will be getting a valve grind on the 915 heads, MP cam 284/.484(He likes the MP cams so dont say Voodoo cams are better ), and the Edelbrock Torker II with Holley 750 DP. He doesn't like headers so these manifolds will have to work. Some HP manifolds would be nice ife he could get a good deal

The Torker (or any other single plane design) will be a slug at lower RPMs unless you do a healthy cam swap.

If just bolting one of those intakes on a 100% stock 440 the stock dual plane intake will net you better overall performance.

A new High Stall torque converter to compliment the cam is also on the list. Should work good with the 67's higher compression and the 3.55 gears. We also ordered up a set of later style pushrods and new valve springs to match the cam
