I have been getting oil laying in the vally pan after a run. can not figure out where its coming from. the pan is not cracked and has been changed 3 times. I use the felpro 1215, with the thin paper gaskets on either side of intake and RTV red on both ends and in all four corners. no oil shows on paper gaskets when removed. this is not a "film" or droplets, this is oil puddled in pan. clean it off, make a pass, check and its back. anyone seen this before? (440, cast iron heads, team G manifold, 1050 carb) Thanks, Brian Dunnigan

look real close along the valve covers, also run a small bead of silicone along the pan and intake, it might not be right but I didn,t want to take mine apart and reseal, it worked for me, still not sure where it was leaking, Tim

do you seal the intake man. bolts with rtv?
Many times it's the bolts. Even though they are tight, they can seep a bit. I have also seen more than one valley pan that develop a tiny crack in the center under the manifold. Usually because the pan didn't fit too good and "stretched" when the manifold got tigtened down.
just a thought

Right now I'm scratching my head, not like I'm new to this BB racing thing, but I'm open to ANY & ALL susgestions. Believe me, I'm willing to try most any thing at this point.
Sorry, Brian, I missed the point in your original post about not seeing any cracks in the pan and changing it out. . Try sealing the bolts with RTV. Oil leaks are very frustrating..

Yes, its dry there too.
You said you wipe it clean before each pass.... first how much are you talking... a few drops or a 1/4 cup. Next, do you see any telltales of oil coming down the side of the valley pan.... if you rev it up do you see anything

Seal the bolts with permatex thread sealer. Works great and solved the same problem for me. Someone said rtv was a bad idea because it'll fall into the heads when you pull the bolts out next time.
