Came across this dual quad poly casting number is 2264370 on the front pass side of the block. I can not find a date code like a later motor has. How can I tell if this is an original dual quad motor? The reason I ask if you look at the photo it does not seem to be messed with it looks like the intake has been on it untouched as the rest of the motor for a long time. Any help from a knowledgeable poly-guru would be greatly appreciated

I think the dual quad poly motors were made from '57ish to '58. Don't think any were available in the 60's. Should also be a 290HP motor IIRC. What are your plans for it?

57/58 Poly 318 engines looked like that, another tip off is the early poly valve coveres, later ones didn't have the retaining bolts through them. It's most likely from a 57/58 Fury.

should be a date on the right side of the block toward the rear, or a p/n or date on the intake manifold somewhere.

mine also had some stampings on the drivers side intake rail, rear, right next to the distributor.

Bolts thru the valvecovers WAS also on the later motors.. My 65 has them.

All polys had bolts through the valve covers. The 57/58 polys had 3 bolts holding them down. That engine is a 60's poly by outward appearances.

right side meaning drivers side rear? also was the dual quad option only those two years 57 & 58? if so then the intake should have that date on it. Thanks
