I have a 727 that's been sitting forever, I want to freshen it up before dropping it in my dart behind a 400hp 360. The car is probably going to be mostly a street hot rod with some drag racing. I have searched through and found quite a bit of info for rebuilding some high performance drag racing transmission on here, I wanted to see what parts and modifications were recommended for this application and where to get all of the stuff I need. Is a big name kit from summit all I need or are some of these different bands and levers and other modifications really a good idea for a mild motor with a light car.
I've rebuilt some th350's before, but never a 727 so whatever tools are necessary would be appreciated as well.

All I ever use in mine are kits from Mopar or Carquest or NAPA.'Heck that is all that is in the race car. Last one I took out after 15 and was still going strong but changed out last year for preventive mainatinance for one that I had rebuilt for a 'just in case' transmission to have on hand that had been sitting on the garage floor for 3 years.
