2905 is the build date July 11, 1969 but it could be a '70 model year, the partial VIN stamped in the lower block will tell for sure.

EW340

E = 1969.

You sure about that stamping?

Would be an F for 1970
G for 1971

Look on the pass side pan rail for the VIN stamping

E = 1969 model year install but my money is on it being an F (1970)
W = Windsor Ontario Assembly Plant
340 = 340 CID
P = Premium Fuel
2905 = July 11 1970 Assembly Date (which if correct means that the preceding E is actually an F)
0127 = 127th engine assembled that day

27p0930-340-6 ("p" is an 8) = 340 block casting number

2b117718 or 6 = VIN sequence number

72 = 1972 Model year
H = 1972 model year
M = Mound Road Assembly Plant
340 = CID
R = Regular Fuel

You left off some numbers on the front of the block, 72HM340RXXXXXXX?

Perhaps you need a new calendar.

2905 IS July 11, 1969, I corrected my original reply (having a senior moment). This is a really late build to be installed in a '69 car but the numbers don't lie.

Yes, I was mistaken. The 10,000 day calender In Galen's White Book shows 2905 as July 11 with 1970 at the top of the page, but below in fine print he does show 1969/1970 on the same page so it was an oversight on my part, July 11, 1969 it is.
