Ok ive been working on this flippin thing for an hour. What is the secret for getting the cover to stay on the coupler ?? ive tried a clamp, im ready to pull out my hair, 3 beers later still cant get in to stay. Any help here would be appreciated

Is it this type of coupler?
If it is,grease it then just bend those tabs over(downward of course).

Ive never seen that clip before. Is there somebody who sells them ? Ive bent over those tabs and they just wont stay around the coupler body.

A board member used to make those clips, I bought one a few years back. I don't think he makes them anymore.

The redesigned rubber cover looks pretty slick, you can get those at the link below -

The factory design is a pita to seal.

The trick to the stock cover is you do 95% of the bending & setting up of the tabs before you ever start to install the kit.. Get it so you need to work the tabs over the nubs on the coupler body then install it... After the cover is snapped into place a little careful work with a pair of Channel-locks & your good...

I do mine at the corners

pinch one corner the oposite corner then the other 2 corners

2 C clampS ( one at each side, wider side ) to keep cover on place and then HAMER the tabs.

The clip was a solution made on dealers service.

I made to fit it with wire straps LOT TIGHTENED though ( crossed throught the body ) since I made it on car. NOT EASY THOUGH
