I have a 67 Belvedere and just got thru swapping a 4-speed OD out for a 4-speed changed shifter to the new transmission and now all I can do is shift from 3rd to 4th. I had a pin in the shifter when I hooked the rods and removed it when they were attached. HELP!!

Thanks In Advance

What do you mean by pin in the shifter? You put one in to hold the shifter arm in position or a loose pin within the shifter that may have come out? Please clarify so we can help.

Sorry I put in an alignment tool in the shifter to align the arms.

Are you able to move the shifter in the side to side position to operate the opposite arm? If not disconnect the arm or arms off the trans and try moving the shifter through the shift pattern. If everything moves smoothly in the shifter then the problem has to be in the transmission itself. Possible the shifting fork inside the trans could be bent locking gears together. Maybe the short arm on the trans which connects the long arm of the shifter is in the wrong position, please recheck this after checking the shifter. Eliminate the shifter issue first then move onto the trans. Just because it's new doesn't make it right. Many new part have caused me a lot of grief. Good luck.

Thanks I can't move it from side to side just front and back. I will check it this afternoon after work. I appreciate the help.
