Does anyone have any reference photos of the placement of all the A/C mounting brackets on a 73 Charger with a 400. I'm sure a 440 would use the same A/C mounting brackets too. I'm using a remanufactured RV-2 original type compressor not the new aluminum Sanden unit. I'm using rebuilt OEM A/C hoses, OEM replacment evap, and condenser. So everything should be stock. I just need pictures of how all the brackets mount on the engine block. I'm going to wait to put the A/C compressor on the engine after I get the engine in the car because I think it would be overkill for my engine stand. It's already bending with the fully assembled 400. I want to put on as many as the smaller brackets I can before I put the engine in. I know there's a couple of small ones that mount to the intake.

The bracket that goes on the top of the across the waterpump housing is the same for 400 or 440 , the one on the rear to the intake or the head is 400 or 440 specific because of the difference in deck height of the engine . Is there one on the intake on a big block? I've only ever seen one on the rear that connected to the drivers side most forward bolt hole just ahead of the intake manifold , sorry , no pictures .

Actually I was looking at my 73 parts catalog and I think it will work for me trying to decipher how all the brackets go. It showed like 6 brackets total. I know I don't have six. I've got about 4. So hopefully that was right what you said and one was for 440 only. They pretty much all are retained to the intake in some form except the big front mounting bracket that's attached to the water pump housing. I would post a picture here of the illustration but the whole cd is one big pdf file and I don't know if I can pull out one page. But it's from the 73 Chrysler parts catalog under air conditioning.

Those pictures give a good idea , last engine with A/C I took apart was a 72 400 and it didn't have brackets down to the intake .
