I am ready to install a new yoke busing on my manuell A 833 extension housing.

Anyone who know which way should the hole in the bushing turn?

There is a groove machined in the tailhousing. Line up the slot in the bushing with the groove and drive it home. The small hole in the seal boot faces down.

Nice tool!!

I was just looking at my yoke on my 727 and thought it was loose. probably need to get that replaced soon

This shows the relationship between the slot in the bearing and the groove in the housing.

hej,do anyone know if that tool is still availible for buying somewhere?i lay under my cuda 4 speed and i could jank the prop shaft up and down a lot,at least 1/ 16" if not more.if i where in us of a i would send it to passon or brewers but im in sweden,hej aar.is there somewhere to buy special tools for a 4speed? over and out.

Just get the tool and do it yourself. A five year old can do it with that tool. I would venture to guess that even a good trans shop in Sweden or Kazakhstan might have the tool, it's been around for 40 years. The bushing is the same as a 727, and it's also the same as a Ford C-6.

yes , Miller /SpX has the tools in the picture above , if you do a search of posts by the thread starter you will find the thread where he asks about the tools and I gave him the link for the tools .

I'll let you know!. i'll probably need to yank the tranny out to replace the rear drum and band this winter so I'll keep your offer in mind- if I cant borrow one from an acquaintance that owns a tranny shop

thanks guys for the link,im going to buy one of those.great.and of course im going to do it myself.i have more issues with it but its working ok so far.i guess i can rebuild it myself when its time,with the help from you guys it will be fine.thanks
