There isn't any need to use a drill for pre-oiling. Just spin the shaft by hand using a speed wrench. You should be able to get plenty of oil pressure at 60 rpm.

TDC split overlap oils the passenger side valvetrain, then rotate the crankshaft 450 degrees for the driver side.

I post these exact same instructions at least once a month. Maybe someday people will start to remember them??

Easier to use the pan again when you don't use the paper.

Just goo up the corners and ends. And use the pan with the heat crossover blocked off.

I use a speed wrench and do it by hand.

I read all three of the manuals I'm referring to as well as view the replies here. Majority says just use the valley pan. So I went ahead cleaned it and installed it with generous but not too much black silicone provided. Block heat crossover tubes? How would I have done that? The valley pan doesn't cover them up all the way when I installed it? Is it going to be ok installed just how it is? I'm running this 400-4bbl stock in my 73 Charger with even the OSAC valve hooked up, the vapor canister, ported vacuum switch, and the heat stove when I can find one. So don't I need to keep the crossovers unblocked?
