Was Omaha Orange a '68 Factory road runner color? I can't find it on any '68 paint chip sheet so was it a "Spring Special" color or something on that "order". Thanks.
MikeR
Special order 999 code. The one in MCG is local and it's the original owner. Most Omaha Oranges are 68 Barracudas. One dealer in nor cal started ordering the color and it seem others followed. The local 68 RR was bought new at Glendale C-P, IIRC.
There's another Moparts member Rob Roche who's dad bought a 68 340-S new? in Omaha Orange. Sold it years ago.
I think there are 68 Chargers in Omaha Orange also??

There is a 68 charger for sale here on moparts in that color. The same RR is also in MCR this month
BTW Doug (owner) said he bought that Omaha Orange 68 RR right of the dealer lot. Not an ordered car.

There was a 999 code Omaha '68 RR 383 car in SoCal; it was still in its original paint when I saw it about 5-6 years ago.
Was that Doug in Camarillo? He was the original owner.
I'm sure there are more. Chris Edwards did a 69? RR 999 code orange about 5-8 years ago.

Sorry, I don't remember the owners' name, nice guy, may have belonged to the CPW club there. I think Chris is the guy that bought a black Hemi RR project from me maybe 8-10 years ago.
Yes, Chris is the one that restored your old RR. I dont think the original paint orange 68 RR was a CPW member.
Did you see it at a Spring/Fall Fling or elsewhere in So Cal?

It was at one of the Flings; the guy may have lived in Camarillo, I don't recall. Jeez, that was about 12 restorations, 4 jobs, 3 moves, 3 homes, 2 or 3 girlfriends, a million things, and maybe 20 cars ago!

I had an orange 68 Barracuda fastback 999 car. I couldn't find the paint number in any 68 paint charts, but it did show up on a 69 sheet as a special color along with a yellow and a green. I had my car painted using generic "Omaha Orange" since I couldn't find the "real" color, and it wasn't the same as the original color. I would bet the color in the 69 paint book was right. This was about 10 years ago, nobody knew nothin' back then Travis..
70 GTX project, orig 440-4, 4 spd, track pack, FC7, stripper/street racer special.
