Jim_Lusk I Live Here Joined: Mar 2003 Posts: 18,678 Fresno, CA	Yes, they are that undesirable. The only difference between a 67 and 68 (assuming same engine mounts) is the idler arm mount. The idler arm for a 67 is more expensive and harder to find (if you can even find one). It is also generally accepted as weaker.

Jim_Lusk I Live Here Joined: Mar 2003 Posts: 18,678 Fresno, CA	Sure it could have the 68-later idler arm welded on in place of the 67 stub, but at that point you might as well use the later K. There were changes at various points over the years (67-76) to the strut rod bushing area, but these were not functional changes.
