nic OP member N Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 3 kansas	I have a 72 rallye charger that has a wounded 400. I am going to temporarily drop in a 75' 440 from a pickup until I can rebuild the 400. The 440 doesn't need to be rebuilt but I would like to slide in a better cam to wake it up a bit. Has anyone gotten good performance from a smogger with a simple cam change ?? The gears are 2.76 and it does have a small 2000 stall converter ,,,, everything else is stock.. Any ideas ????

RemCharger master Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 2,825 Sk. Canada	Look at the 440 smogger thread in the archived section. I ran the .528 mech and ran mint(12 flat). I chose it due to the 60* overlap for building cyl press. IMO the 509 is too big(72*)... but others will attest that its worked for them...

I actually do have the bigger summit cam on the shelf,,, I had it in the 400 for a while but it didn't make much torque down low so i switched it out. But maybe it will work better with the 440's longer stroke ? I am going to install a set of shorty headers also.
