I don't have a pic but if I remember correctly the fuel line goes up between the altenator and block, past the dist, over the valve cover to the carb. Are you using the original line or hose?

It's a hose from the filter up behind the alt but over the top of the dist shaft over the valve cover to the Holley, maybe route it under the dist shaft and over the valve cover to the carb?

I would go back to the original steel line. The steel will be rigid and hold itself away from the block, the hose will just lay against it. Another option might be going with a braided line for more protection.
