I am considering getting the 440-1c heads, I would like to see some pictures of them installed. Do the iron version have Indy machined in the end of the head like the alum. ones?

My brothers did.. But man those heads are heavy. Even over the stock heads.. Ya better lose some weight somewhere else on the car if you going to use them...

The Indy heads with the recessed logo can be easily filed with bondo. It lasted on mine for over 5 years and still looked good when I sold tem.

They are heavy, just installed a set on a friends 470. The iron heads added a total of 73 lbs to the front end of the car.

thanks for the pics The engine is a 470 but it is in a pulling truck so the weight is not a problem

Rules must dictate a cast head? I would think that a puller type rig would go right into detonation, when wheel speed goes down. Seems like methanol/aluminum heads would be the low budget answer. (Maybe you guys do run methanol with cast heads, what do I know.
