I just put a new gear in and had a new drive shaft made as well. I used the Mopar 904-7290 slip yoke P5007410. The yoke feels funny when I try to insert it. Come to find out it has 26 splines and the stock unit has 25 splines. I checked another 904 slip yoke and it has 25 splines. I also checked a 727 slip yoke and it has 29 splines.

Did mopar screw up? Did any one else have this problem? What did you do?

Thanks

Will the slip-yoke go on?

I think OEM slip-yokes omitted 1 spline to allow free
movement, fore and aft. (solve hydraulic lock)

The splines are visibly different (count and sizing). It will go on but it spins over the output shaft of the trans.

All 904's have a 26-spline output shaft and all 727's have a 30-spline output shaft. The 25 and 29-spline reference is to slip yokes with one spline removed but they are still for 26 and 30-spline shafts.

There have been many complaints that the newer slip yokes won't fit their respective shafts, they're just made wrong.

Yup, the Mopar one is a 27 spline if you include the blind spline.

No idea where it was made. Drive shaft was built a few months ago so the box is gone.

Same here, got one from Mancini at around twice the price but at least it fitted properly.
