3.73

I run 4.10's but I race more often and only occasionally street drive.

I feel safer on the track than I do on the street...

sounds like a pretty stout mill to drive around.

If it were me, i would set it up for the track, and put up with the few hundred rpm difference on the street you are taking about with your gear choice. It isnt gonna get 30mpg no matter the gear choice, Why not make it run the best it can, and just throw a hair more fuel in it on the street

My combo is almost identical to yours, and I'm going with 4.10's. My car is not weighed yet, but should be around 36-3700lb with me, 511, 10.5-1, cnc stealths, 262@.050 solid flat tappet, holley sd intake, 950 quickfuel, 9.5" PTC 4200, 2" TTI's, 3" x pipe and ultra flos and 295/65 drag radials. I don't plan on any cross country trips, but I can still cruise 50-100 miles if I want without much hassle. I don't mind cruising in the granny lane if necessary. I would rather be better prepared at the track BTW, did you dyno your engine?

In an A-body with that combo you could get away with 3.73's since you plan to drive it alot. You can always play with tire sizes also. I would say 4.10's but unless you modify the wheelwell you cant get a very tall tire on an A-body. I run 4.30's but I dont have near the power you do so I need the gear and I use a 30" tall tire on my B-body to help keep the RPM's down. My son uses 3.91's in his Dart and he cant fit no taller then a 28" tire which still rubs some. If you cant fit taller then a 28" tire I would go with the 3.73's as you will have enough power at the track to get away with them. Ron

I drive several miles at a time w/4.11`s but I run the hoosier qtp 29" tires so you`ll have a bit less circumference so maybe high 3`s will give the best of both worlds. By the way, it`s NEVER too radical to drive on the street........my small 470 has an 8" 5000 vert, 4.11`s, dominator and a solid roller w/.680-660 lift and 275-280 duration @.050 and idles like a kitten and cruises effortlessly.
