I just bought a foot brake drag car with a very mild 318 built for dependabilty But it still has points type ignition in a Mallory Distributor. I'm looking at using the pertronic's kit to convert it is there anything negative about going this route.

I put a used up 318 in my 67 bell ,at first it had a points dist, and ran terrible and hard to start, I switched over to a petronix conversion and it was like night and day i istantly got faster starting better peddle response and it seemed to have gained a few hp.
