Quite a few years ago I met a guy out at his storage place looking at some Ramcharger parts and he asked me if I was interested in his dads old 70 Fury 4 door Michigan State police car. It had a 440HP in it with the VIN indicating it to be an HP car,something like a 2.45 rear end ratio and I believe it was an 8 3/4. The speedo had a certification sticker on it,dual snorkle air cleaner and some other police items I cant remember. It was painted brown over the Blue that the State cars were here. It definately was a cool car that I didnt need then but wish I had bought now

After the death of the M bodies in 1989,Dodge did offer police pursuit K cars,Durangos,and Intrepids.Even Ramchargers up to 1993 were available for police/fleet/military use.

Basically,Dodge never really dropped out of the cop car scene.Just was in the background behind GM's and Phords offerings until the Charger came out in hot pursuit.
Me? I just love my 87 Dippy.

Never had a chance to drive the new Chargers. My Dept. uses Chevys now & had Fords before that. The County Sheriffs have Chargers & they are gorgeous but from what I hear they have a brake fade problem. Shades of AMC Matador cop cars! Still I'd gladly take one, outfit it with some Baer brakes, a Procharger & I'd be good to go!

my 88 360 headed 318 4-v from a 88 plymouth gran fury cop car is still going and never had the heads off yet,swaped in the lunati 60710 VooDoo roller cam in 07'

just has the windage tray left inside,rock and rolls in the 85 stepside truck now

can YOU say LOTS of MILES on IT...

may be nothing for added HP,but the stuff they put in it for longevity works just fine in them
