The current Mopar "turquoise" engine paint could not be any more "BLUE" if they wanted it to be!! Does anyone know where I can buy some paint cans to get at least close?

Thanks.

You don't have to use just engine paint.
Find any color you like in a paint can.
If you want, have an auto shop mix you up the
color you want. When painted, just clear coat it
and it will be easy to keep clean. I've been
painting motors with out high temp paint for
over 20 years.

Really? You think it's a bad match? I just finished cleaning some '68 440 HP2 engine parts with remnants of the original paint. I compared the cleaned original paint with some new Mopar engine paint and it was an exact match.

Maybe I got a bad batch.. But I have (3) brand new cans of "Mopar" paint (the ones with the funny foreign language on them..) and I should give them to my Ford friends..

I got them from Jegs.. maybe they changed the formula back?

Has anyone had any success with finding turquoise?

I still have a half-used can of Mopar Direct Connection engine paint in that color.

Tower Paint may be able to make up some rattle cans for you...I used them for R4 rattle cans for my engine bay ... perfect match!

I have several engines that are still painted the original turquoise from the factory, the ONLY paint I've seen that even comes close to matching it is the blend that Frank Badelson sells, all others I've seen are typically too "blue", the original stuff has a greener tint to it.

Yes, Scott, you are dead on. The original color does have the greener tint. However, do you think the color has faded over the years? I too have some original parts with the paint on them so I know what you mean.

Sure colors can change over the years to some extent, both sunlight and heat changes it the most, but sunlight can be ruled as a minor factor in most engine examples because they are under the hood. I have 3 complete turquoise engines and allot of original paint to look at on all areas (both high heat areas like intakes and lower heat areas like accessory brackets, etc.) It's pretty easy to determine which areas show the true original coloring.

I used VHT (No SP-126) after I tried the MP paint. It was better than the MP.

Look closer, that is an Edelbrock Performer intake.

I use Bill Hirsch also, great engine paint imo. I've used the Hemi orange and the turquoise.

Bill Hirsch paint is a good quality paint product, but an exact match to OEM paint it is not. Sure, it's close enough for some people, but side by side with original (in any OEM Mopar color they sell) there's a visible difference.

*BTW, that 68 is a beautiful car! My favorite color too!

I use the MP paint. Looks like a pretty good match to me.
