Does anyone make a good conversion buld set up? Most of the ones i've seen all look like motorcycle headlamps. I'd like to try and stay stock looking. Any compianes make the lens houseings that look like stock sealed beams?

Best thing to do to start is go with a relay set up so you will at least get battery voltage at the headlight.

80% of the headlights sold now are at least halogen over the counter. If you want to step up from that you can go to a Hella headlamp setup.

Allen Here's a novel idea, let's not throw a bunch of parts at the car hoping it will fix the problem and instead spend a little time diagnosing it first. Life was a little easier when I was just a wrench.

I have the relay kit. I'm looking for something like Hella. But i want to keep them looking stock. All the ones i've seen so far are clear flat glass like a motorcycle. I'd like to find some that look like stock sealed beams

If you want "stock looking" what's wrong with halogen sealed beams?

Basically you are looking for a h5006 bulb (low beam) but in a seal beam though right?

Those would work. Do they take the H4 bulbs?

Hologen sealed beams are not as bright as the newer hologen lights.

But are they very much brighter than standard bulbs?

I think a lot of the difference is in your minds

It depends on the wattage of whatever "hologen lights" you are talking about, but the REALLY big thing is that these old girls never had decent SIZED wiring to begin with. Putting lamp relays out under the hood with larger wire feeds helps immensely

When you click the link for the picture it says H4 in the center of the bulb. So I would say yes.

Sealed beam headlamps and headlamp housings which take a replaceable bulb (such as an H4) are totally different.

Do you want more light, more brightness, or a better light pattern?

I suggest you check out the info at www.rallylights.com regarding light patterns and the differences in U.S. and European code conversion headlamps.

I checked out that link. Didn't find any info on light patterns. I'm looking for a brighter , whiter light. And yes i know there different. Orignal question was who makes a good conversion headlamp.

Hella makes an excellent conversion headlamp. I've used Hella E-code conversion lamps on three of my vehicles which previously used sealed beam halogen bulbs and highly recommend them to everyone.

If those are the ones from Pro Street Lighting stay very far away. There junk. I bought a set. The reflectors were falling off the bulbs didn't even fit the housings. Cheap China made crap. Sent them back for a refund but still lost 30 bucks on shipping. I just got my Hella's from Summit. They look great. H4 and H1 high beam set. Going to install maybe tomorrow with my relay kit.
