I am swapping my drum brakes to disc and cannot find the OEM bolts to bolt the LBJ to the spindle. Do I have to use OEM or can I use a grade 8 nut and bolt??
THNX!!!

I lost one while driving and that is all I did to replace it.

The catch is that I could not find one with a deep shoulder, and I could not find one the right length. I had to go longer. But it works.

I'd use an OEM one. Check the classifieds or post a wanted ad.

Thats what I figured. Like Andrew said, I knew I wouldn't be able to get the proper legnth and the shoulder wouldn't be right.
Have to hit the classified's and see how many replies I get wanting $30 or more!!

FWIW, I've used grade 8 bolts many times without issue.

I can't see them working any worse than a set off of a parts car, or found in an old bolt bin somewhere.

I also have used grade 8's when original bolts were gone from spindles on donor cars in the wrecking yards.
