Dodge D150 Stock 360la. My Oil pressure is really low on my gauge. usually at 50 psi but is now reading at half that or lower. and at idle the gauge doen't even move up. Just changed oil used valvoline sae 30 and a K&N filter. Changed the Copper Line and plugs leading to the gauge. It's weird it's not knocking or making any noises that would point to not getting oil pressure. What may be the cause?

Take the filter off and see if it has oil in it. If not then fill it up about 1/2 way and try it again. It sounds like you lost your prime and it does happen occasionally.

Eliminate any guessing with this and install an oil pressure gauge on the engine and check it. Better safe than sorry.

Put on a cheap filter and see if the pressure goes back up. Just had the same problem with a fram Xtended Guard™ filter. Worth a try.
