12 inch pounds in a foot pound so 144 divided by 12 = 12 foot pounds.

I know you are but what an I?

Allen Here's a novel idea, let's not throw a bunch of parts at the car hoping it will fix the problem and instead spend a little time diagnosing it first. Life was a little easier when I was just a wrench.

BTW, if you are using a 100 ft. lb. torque wrench, it won't be very accurate down there at 12 ft. lbs. That's just over 10 percent of the rating, and they work best (most accurate) in the middle to high range.

Once you know how many inches are in a foot you can do the conversion.

torquing mag intake bolts?

72 inch pounds first = 6 foot ponnds

then 144 inch pounds = 12 foot pounds

I try to use a 3/8 drive torque wrench when down to that low of a #

also with the part about the ft lb version not being accurate in those ranges.

THIS is why they have those little dinky 3/8 and 1/4 drive "beam" T-wrenches ...with that "inch" scale on it.
