Looking for suggestions for my vinyl top.

I tried Armor All, but it leaves greasy marks all over the top.

What could i use that will bring a shine and not leave greasy streaks.

thanks

when you used the Armor All did you spray directly on to the top then wipe?....it's been a while since i owned a car with a vinyl top, but if memory serves me correctly i always used AA but you need to spray it on to the towel you are using and spread it on like you would when you hand wax a car...circular motion alittle at a time and keep towel saturated with AA....

There was a thread on this a short time ago. A few people said to use baby oil.

Dont use armol all on a white top.It will turn yellow over time.Dont ask me how I know.I just asked this question a while back, they said 303 protectant has no silicone in it.I really dont put anything on mine.I want to put something to give it a little gloss, but I am afraid to put anything onit after what happened to my last one.303 is good stuff.

There are specific dressings for vinyl tops. As said don't use armorall it will discolor your top.

well i can't comment on the white top because i have never owned one... but i can tell you for sure that AA will not discolor a black top unless they have changed it's formula in the last 10 years...if properly applied AA will work as well as any other top dressing..

Avon Skin So Soft.
No kidding, guys swear by it, I have used it on interior panels and it looked great.
Then I thought if I get some with UV protectant....

I have used 303 Aerospace Protectant and more recently Adam's VRT with great results....

Armor All will also turn your whitewalls yellow over time.

I have used Armor All on my vinyl top for over 20 years. It does not fade nor harm the top. This is a replacement top from Legendary. What I typically do is wipe the top down with a heavy coat of Armor All, then I wash the car with a typical car wash soap. This removes the excess product, but leaves a nice clean, not overly shiny top. The 303 Aerospace protectant seems to be good too but its pricey, so I went back to Armor All.

This works well for me in the Chicago/Midwest summer sun. Those that are in the Southern half of the country where you get more sun, may have different experiences.

Before there was ArmorAll, we used Lemon Pledge.
I haven't had a VT car in many years, but never had a problem with Pledge or ArmorAll on either older or freshly replaced VTs or interiors. I've heard 303 is good stuff.

My brother used some sort of clear work boot grease on my Dart back when he still owned it. Looked fantastic, but it did run down the front and rear glass if it rained hard. The top was dry from years of sitting outside before he bought it and it eventually split and started to peel off.

Some of us still do, use it on tires too.

ArmorAll appeals to those who like the slick oily look.
