Just started work on this cool rear steer wagon for my son's 4th birthday coming up in July. Got it totally disassembled in two days and got all of the hardware bagged and tagged for replacement. Parts are off to the powder coater for blasting and new colors on Thur. The thought right now is Red on the frame, with a white bed\luggage area and wheel centers and either stained or white boards which I am going to have to recreate as these are pretty toasted. Been an interesting prjct so far. I had originally thought blue for the frame but am now up in the air on it. I did decide the steering 'tie rods and center link' will go white. And I plan to paint the steering 'boxes' silver instead of bare metal. Open to idea if u have em.

Rear view, I plan to paint 'Jaden's Jalopy' or something similar on the side boards

Red Frame, gold accents, chromed or silver painted wheels, Oak stained side boards, some oak liners in the bed floor, some faux heat shield material sleeves over the hand brakes to make them look like exhaust?

Jadens
Lil' Red Wagon

Burned into the wood?

Someone else suggested silver wheels,I am having a hard time picturing it. I am thinking of painting some sort of pattern on the wheels. Corkscrew effect or checkerboard or maybe pinwheel style. Those are the steering levers Scott so not sure I can mock em up exhaust style but it IS a fun idea. Was thinking some more and think the bed will be blue now with the white sides and red frame. Was thinking the white in the bed may not wear that well on a kids toy.

Cool project Jon!

It will be a great lesson for him on how crank shafts work.
