This has probably already been asked a thousand times.could someone please explain the pros and cons too E-85.Some places it might be a lot cheaper but here it is only about 10-15 cents a gallon cheaper. The 440 in my truck now i am guessing it at around 475-500HP?It is 9.7 to 1.Don't know if it would be worth the conversion or not?

Go to my webs site (www.fastmanefi.com) and click on "The MPG Page". I cover a lot of E-85 issues there.

We are going to stir up the haters of e-85.
I figure the mileage difference to price is about 60 cents.
That is the difference in price right now.
I have been using my Durango for the mileage numbers.
Do you have a spare carb around? Go set it up for e-85 and try it.
I'd love to build a 14 to 1 motor dedicated to e-85.

I just watched an episode of "HorsePower" on Spike TV and they did a whole story on E-85. They discussed the differences need for your carb and other fuel related changes. They did show it make quite a bit more horsepower and torque with the E-85 on the same motor. They also showed it used about 20-25% more fuel to make the power, but they stated where they were, the E-85 was half the cost of regular gas. So I guess to them it was a savings in fuel cost and an increase in power and torque.

http://e85forum.com/index.php?sid=04abf33c1a1ef26aba22074d610e04ab There is a lot of good info on this site. Mark Sullens(DragChevette) has a very good handle on setting up E85 carbs.

I'm doing a 383 based stroker , 12.5 compression , I'm going to run it ultimately on E85

all great links posted!

the key to E-85 is the 100 or 110 octane...I think it's 110? anyway, you need to USE that octane, or you're wasting your money on E-85.

it's not THAT Much cheaper than gas, especially when you figure that you need 20% MORE of it to keep from going lean.

so to factor in your savings, build a high compression motor that needs 110 octane, and THEN compare the price and mileage of E-85 to 110 race gas.
