Sorry for all the questions but, I am trying to plan a 440 build and don't want to mess up too bad. Anyway, does anyone know what the specs are for a stock 72 440? Are all the 440 cams the same or were there different ones? If different ones, what are there specs?

Mike

Thanks for the info. Any idea on lift? What would be a good replacement cam for stock or slightly larger?

Mike

I’m sure you will find no shortage of camshaft recommendations here, I chose the MP “resto six-pack three-bolt” for my project. Basically a reissue of the original camshaft. There is also a reissue of the one-bolt HP cam used in these big blocks then. BTW, same grind.

From the 09' Mopar Performance catalog

a lunati voodoo cam works good for stock

there are a single bolt cam and a 3 bolt cam

if you want a gear drive you need the 3 bolt cam
