Your question can be interpreted different ways.

If you have mounted pins and want to place the holes in the correct position the best way is to measure in two or three directions

like from the fender edge to the pin center. You can use pieces of tape to give yourself reference points.

Or are you asking where you should mount the pins? or where can you get the pins?

Sooooo many variables ......

Depends on what style of hood it is(does it have a header panel OR severe overhang)... which company made it, what type of bracing is used etc ...

I have the pins mounted already , the hood is a Glasstek lift off ... I am trying some tape and string to locate the pins and then transfer to the hood to drill holes ... Will this work ?
Also , what is the best way to drill holes in fiberglass w/o causing any damage ?

Thanks !!

No scoop on the hood ?

A properly braced 69 Cuda/73-6 Dart hood should not need more than FOUR hood pins. UNLESS the car runs some BIG speed and/or has a huge scoop.

I would run the pins on the INSIDE of the bracing .... maybe a foot from the fender edge on the front .... and on the inside of the bracing in the rear ... off the firewall or one of the hood-hinge mounting locations.

Yep. Place masking tape over the spot you are drilling through to prevent cracking the gel coat.

I just drilled 10 holes in mine for Dzus fasteners with no problem.

Use a heavy tape ...

I like using duct tape.

Once the holes are drilled, position the hood where you want it exactly, rat tail the holes as needed to get there. Once in position put plates on, drill and secure plates.

Allen Here's a novel idea, let's not throw a bunch of parts at the car hoping it will fix the problem and instead spend a little time diagnosing it first. Life was a little easier when I was just a wrench.

Minor adjustments ? ... roger that !

With the hood-pin-plates it is muchO more forgiving. NOT like a dzus fastener !!
