I used the MSD fuel pump from summit. Was like 95 bucks. Probably the same as the summit pump. 3/8ths inlet, 5/16's outlet.

Was fine for the 98 and up that needs the 50 psi, but don't know for the 97 and down what psi rating you need.

I used an aeromotive regulator with a return line.

I put efi rated rubber hose from the pump at the back of the car all the way up to the engine where I put the regulator.

Cut the old fuel line at the fender and used it as the return to the tank.

Got a new sending unit 3/8ths and then had feets weld a 5/16 return line into it.

With the regulator wide open, I still have 20 psi at the regulator, but I honestly think that is as low as it regulates.

It will hold 50 psi for about 2 weeks after I shut off the pump.

I could not find anyway to do it without a return line except the intank self regulated fuel pump. But since I couldn't figure out how to get it in the tank, I went this route. Overall the same cost I am sure, but this way I have less expensive parts to replace.

Andrew,

What would you think if I'd use a pump rated at 45psi non return line ? Aeroquip AEI 11109 ?

I could be wrong, but I don't find that pump. I found an aeromotive one with that number.

I don't think that rating means what you think it does. You have to have a regulator to get 45 psi. That rating is just what it will pump at 45 psi back pressure.

I do not know of an efi regulator that does not have a return line.
