My '70 Challenger has it's original white vinyl top. It's in very nice shape, but it is just a little bit dingy and dull.
I've never had a vinyl top car before, so I'm researching the best products for cleaning and protecting it.
The only preconceptions I have are that I have heard bad things about anything Armorall. I don't even have it in the house, so I haven't been tempted to use it on this top. I also do not want it artificially "shiny" like Armorall typically does.
What are you guys using and are you happy with the results?
thanks

I know this is going to sound funny but my first car 30 years ago was a vinyl top car and I had an old car guy say to use baby oil on it. I did and it would last about a month looking good and then I re-applied. I'm sure there is better stuff today but that's my story. Good luck

The best-Mequiars Number 40 Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner.

Follow the directions to a tee!

I use it on my original vinyl top. Low gloss for the natural look and UV protectors. I apply it twice; once to clean and once to preserve.

I use this stuff on my E body interior once or twice a year including my original door panels with great results. If the top is really dirty you could try a 50/50 (or less) solution of Simple Green and a soft to medium brush first.

A garage. Best preservative there is. Haven't seen any product work better, or at all over 40 years.
