Kinda hate to ask a carb question after reading a recent post about carbs. For sure Im not outing a vendor because Mark has gone out of his way, calling me 3-4 times a day to help me get this thing straightened out. In fact he called me 8 times on Sat to see if I made it to the track, which I didnt, but no fault of the carb.

Anyhow, the carb runs fine from a dead stop, but going down the hwy in 2nd or 3rd, punch it and it bogs really really bad. In fact in 3rd it you dont let off the gas and let the motor catch back up it will die. Im talking like at 35-40 MPH punch. Im running about .80 lambda at cruise, punch the gas in 2nd and it will jump to over 1.5 then drop back down to .77 or so WOT. In 3rd, same MPH, etc nail it and it jumps to over 3.0 lambda then comes back down to the same .77 or so WOT. Ive had the jets up, down, etc front and back. Back PV is blocked, tried blocking the front PV, jumped the jetting way rich and it took the bog away in 2nd, lambda acted correct. Still had a hint of a bog in 3rd, but not that bad. I had/have a 4.5 PV in it, thought about going up in PV to see if that helps?

I usually run a 2 inch open spacer. Thought it might be part of the problem. Went to a 1 inch 4 hole sitting on a 1 inch open, no change. Pulled the air cleaner, didnt help either. I started out with .027 HS bleeds, down to .021, no change.

Tried uping the front squirter to 40 from 37, no change.

Thought about putting a 50cc pump on the rear, but havent gotten that far.

Im concerned that at the track IF the car hooks it might fall on its face? Maybe Im thinking too much. Dunno. I know it didnt have a bog whatsoever on gas anywhere in the power band.

FWIW, here is a full rundown on what is in the carb at the moment.

950 HP
86/95 jets
.021 HSB
.065 IAB
40/42 squirters, orange cams on #1
4.5 PV, .080 PV restrictors
QF metering blocks.

Again, Im not in the even least knocking the guy who did the work, so dont take me wrong. I just want it running right.

Any ideas?

What is the vac reading at right before you step on
the gas(at the 2nd gear point), your PV might be waiting
to long before it opens up. You know it wants more
fuel(bog is lack of fuel in MOST cases)
