HI,
Took my 904 apart (off a 5th ave), and yes it has 5 disc clutch, but I am puzzled about the very wide low-reverse band. Does this make any sens ?

I thought the kick down band was absorbing the biggest schock and therefore should be wider ? it is just as wide as the 904 from my '67 with a 273...I tought it should heve been the 1.6 inch wide one at least ?

Starting in '68 V8 904's (904-LA) got the double-wrap rear band and the /6 still had the narrow band.

Another tip for you, look at the kickdown band for a number on the side, use the one with the highest number.

I think you mean the kickdown band lever, not the band itself.
