RUMBLON OP master Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 9,857 Cambridge Idaho	Well, I just installed he front to rear brake line and that was a piece of cake and took all of 10 minutes to remove the old one and install the new one. Wish the fuel was that easy. I dont know fuel lines, what kind of compression fitting will work? and is the tubbing bender I have decent or should get a new one and what type of flaring tool. I have several cars to do and one is a 38 Plymouth that will require special shaped fuel lines I would imagine and its a 5.7 hemi. so return lines too?? Dave Dave'

That being said if it was my rig and another $75 wasn't going to break the bank I would get a replacement. It's two less places for a fuel leak to decide to start. If I patched it the only one who would know is me and that is all it would take.

It took quite a bit of "rasslin" to get it in, and I had to massage it some too. I made it without any kinks though. If I had it to do over again, I think I might cut it near the middle, then splice it. I think I got lucky not kinking it.

To make a 90, I used a spool-type bender ($10 at the local NAPA) and bent it about 60, then moved toward the apex of the bend a little, bent another 5 and did that a couple more times, working away from my original bend, till I finally got a 90* bend. Granted, the radius of that bend is larger, but it doesn't have any kinks. I do what Brian does. It wont take a tight radius without kinking & I am definitely going to try(carefully) heating next time with a torch. I never thought about that with fuel lines. live every 24 hour block of time like it's your last day on earth

I have a kink like yours and have been running it for over 3 years, with no fuel problems. I however would cut out the bad and add a union. An old timers trick is to lay the tube against the round part of a ball pien hammer and bend arount it. Keeping it tight to the hammer. Will bend around and not kink. Try it , it works!!
