I bought these from the Right stuff and they came today. So off with the old 5/16th line and on with the new 3/8 line. However I almost had it in the hole that leads to the front after messing with it for 45 minutes and I got this bend in the difficult area that wraps the corner?????

Is it junk? any way to get the pinch out of it. I went so darn slow and tried so hard, but these are a pain in the tila?

I would take a SWAG and say that it is pretty much FUBAR at this point.

Yup, it's pooched. That kink is no good, unless you are able to cut it, flare the new ends left when you removed that piece and can find a high pressure fitting you're looking at getting another length of tubing.

Bummer dude

ouch! looks like scrap to me. where it is at it don't look like you can splice it very easy either.

I'm gonna assume you meant fuel line

yup, its junk. I would cut out the kink and replace it with a short piece of high quality fuel line and a couple ss clamps.
Or replace the entire line, your choice

And buy at least a medium priced tubing bender or find some of the coil spring sleeve material to wrap around the line before you repeat the 'process'.

Yep, I bought the fuel and brake lines all for the same car.

I dont know how I could have been any easier on this thing. And it still is not that close to fitting correctly. and more

I will buy a tubing bender. I didnt know I was going to need one, as I though this would be a lot closer to the original, thus eleminating the need. Oh well, another $75.00 down the drain. Its only money, right. what kind of tubing bender do you guys reccomend and Are the stainless lines any better????? If I get another, maybe fine lines will be a closer match??

I've used Fine Lines dozens of times without any issues...

Tubing bender, like th eone I just pulled out of my shop tool box, that I have never used, or maybe I did on a day when I was actually thinking about what I was doing.

This seem cumbersome, do they make a better one? whats best, maybe I should just buy stock and flaring tools and make my own if I am going to have to mess with them after buying them?

Just cut and splice. No big deal.

A coil spring bender is cheap (<$5.00), easy to get on and off, and supports the tubing while you bend it. I bought one from the Plumbing Dept. at Ace hardware.

3/8 line is not easy to bend into a 90, even with a tube bender, i tried 2 benders, one as show on this page and another one, they both kinked the line, i decided to run braided line instead, good luck

I would cut the bad section out. Then replace with a union or elbow. they make compression fittings that should work, found at the local hardware.
I also bought some anodized AN type with 3/8" compression from Summit a while back. They worked fine and are also available in a sweeping elbow, this will not restrict the flow.

FYI stainless looks great and last forever but is harder to bend than the mild steel.

hi
I just bent my fuel line yesterday (5/16"). To make a 90, I used a spool-type bender ($10 at the local NAPA) and bent it about 60*, then moved toward the apex of the bend a little, bent another 5* and did that a couple more times, working away from my original bend, till I finally got a 90* bend. Granted, the radius of that bend is larger, but it doesn't have any kinks.
