I have just purchased a cheetah reverse manual valve body for my 727 and have the stock floor shifter and center counsel in my 68 Barracuda. Anyone use this setup or do I have to do aftermarket?

Uh oh I seem to be havein 2nd gear burnout problems!! The car launches awesome in 1st and boils the tires all the way into 2nd gear and up shifts and down shifts fine but the car does not want to do a 2nd gear burnout as detailed in the paperwork. The trans has all the goodies installed bolted sprag, good clutches etc.. did I brake it already? Besides the 2nd gear burnout thing it seems mint. Band adjustment perhaps.I really dont want to remove it if I dont have to.

For the burnout. Are you backing into the water or rolling through it?

Currently not able to hit the track, I'm in the Detroit area and we are suppose to get snow tonight ARGH! But up until today the weather has been decent enough to get the car out and tested. Why do you ask?

Are you trying to do a 2nd gear burn out with the tires dry?

Yes I am, Not a good idea I take it? Its just the kid in me I guess I love my car, its a blast. The car launches wheels spinning every time I get into the gas from a stop. It reminds me of my 68 charger 4406 4spd car I had as a 18 year old kid. Those were the days. Im thinking it will hook up with the slicks on as soon as we shovel the drag strip.

I would venture to say the trans is fine.
The problem might be a loose nut behind the wheel.

I always start my burnouts in 2nd gear wet or dry. I thought it was bad to start it first on a mopar 727
Only a bad idea if you have a VB that does not have a LBA.
