Looks like the lower front windshield trim isn't going to stay put ... clips are recessed too far (or new gasket is too large) anyway ... what are options for installing in other ways ?. Just looking for ideas/tricks. Thanks.

you didnt say what car you have but either you have the wrong clips,or clip or trim is bent where it snaps in.

71 Swinger - I have the right clips (compared them to the old, rusted originals) I'll look close at the trim. I think the gasket's "fatter" than the original, not allowing me to get them all to clip (about half). Didn't know if there wer a trick with an adhesive of some sort - so only I would know.

New clips will have more spring to them than older worn out ones.. If you can get half of them to clip you should be able to get the rest.

Make sure you are getting the chrome UNDER the clips. Sometimes prying up on the clip to start the chrome helps.. We use to "karate" the chrome in with the side of our hands or take the plastic install tool and lightly hammer on the edge of the chrome with it on some tough ones. BUT be careful as you can dent or kink the chrome easily...
