Always seems to be something.
Finally, after more years than one can imagine, I was looking forward to actually DRIVING my car today. I really was. Of course, it now won't start, and I can't fault it.
There seems to be spark (pull a plug, crank engine, plug sparks), and there's definitely fuel.
If I follow the MSD instructions, and jump the green and violet wires, removal of the 'jump' will create a spark at the coil wire.
If I've ever had a 'no start' issue, it's been to do with a lack of either fuel or spark. This time I have both, so I'm lost...... And ready to hit it with a hammer. A large hammer.

Where to from here?

Do you have the MSD red wire hooked up properly? You need to attach it so it is hot both in "start" and "run". Sounds like you may only have the "start" wire hooked up.

If you hooked up your MSD according to the instructions it doesn't mention this. It has drove many a mopar guy crazy. DAMHIK

Done the same thing. Hook both wires to a constant hot and try it. If it starts then you are on a cranking only hot wire.

Walk away for a little while. Then try some ether. It's easy to flood them with older 10%ethanol fuel. If you have spark, compression, and fuel, it's something easy. Just take a break and come back with a clear head.

Well, art is art, isn't it? Still, on the other hand, water is water! And east is east and west is west and if you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does. Now, uh... Now you tell me what you know.

I'm pretty sure the MSD is wired up correctly as it has run in the past without issue.
The car won't even fire off at this stage.
The only thing I can think of is perhaps that the spark is 'weak', but have no idea how to test/measure that.

That was actually my first guess, so I cranked and cranked to clear out any excess fuel.... no luck.

thats why i suggested the ether. For some reason i don't have good luck trying to clear them after they flood with this fuel. but a shot of ether and it will start right up and clears out.

Battery is/was charged. It started to run down with all the cranking, so I even tried to jump it off another car.....

fully charged battery, new plugs, healthy shot of ether starting fluid. And the dist timing hasn't been changed while trying to get it started this time?.

Distributor hasn't been touched, so timing should be good.
I'm heading out to the store to see if I can find some ether (have never seen it over here before.... so fingers crossed).

How long has it been sitting? If it has sat more than 3 or 4 months, you may need to pour a small amount of gas down the carb . It should fire up and run for at least 3 or 4 seconds , until that fuel burns out. At least that way you know the problem is not the electrical, and you can focus on the carb / fuel pump .
You said it's getting fuel though ? This means you looked inside the carb while working the throttle linkage , and actually saw a good stream of gas squirting into the carb. Correct ?
If you think you are indeed getting fuel, and may have flooded it, hold the accelerator pedal to the floor while cranking (do not pump) .
If you prime the carb with a little gas, and it does not at least fire up and run 2 or 3 seconds ,
then I'd say you need to look for a spark problem , but right now I would lean toward needing a new fuel pump, or rebuild the carb if it has sat uncranked for more than a few months.

Car ran last week, and no wiring has been changed.
Definitely getting gas, as verified from watching it squirt.
Also tried priming it with gas directly.
Also cranked it with the throttle wide open in case it was flooded.
Just got home from the parts store.... A healthy squirt of ether didn't help.
I'm going to pull the plugs out and have a look right now.

Thanks for all the help so far.

Doubt this is it -- but I had the same issue that you are having with my Duster -- ran one week and the next I couldnt get anything to work right. I had spark, timing, everything was the same, I pulled the plugs and realized a few of them were burned up and only after a few months of mild driving so pull the plugs, maybe you have a few bad ones?

Pulled the plugs. They're all black and wet.
The reason the car had been sitting for so long (finally 'fixed' last week), was due to an off-idle rich condition, so I'm not surprised that the plugs are fouled.
I'll give 'em a bit of a clean, and see what happens from there.
