We are putting together a 1978 360 for my son's Valiant and planned on pulling the 318(85) and a friend mentioned the flywheels would be differently weighted.
Do I need a specific year flywheel for the 360?Or would any 360 ,stick shift flywheel work?
We also have a 71 360 in the works for future use, would that need a completely different flywheel? I have the harmonic balancers for each of the 360's. Any Help???

No specific year, you just need to use a 360 flywheel. I'd suggest the Mopar Performance piece:

Works great between my 360/A-833. Be sure to buy new flywheel bolts, too.

make sure its an LA 360 flywheel as the Magnum flywheels are different as well.

i am pretty sure the flywheels are the same on the la 360 engines but are different on the magnum. your friend is right the 318 and 360 wheels are different along with the harmonic ballencers.

Don't be grabbing no 11" truck flywheel for that 360 or you'll learn that not all 360 flywheels are the same the hard way.

They say there are no such thing as a stupid question.
They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.
