My 2000 V6 Dakota is throwing codes P0132 and P0463. The truck just dies when put under load (i.e. going up a hill). There were a couple of black puffs from the exhaust. I replaced the lower 02 sensor last summer because it was throwing the P0132. The gas tank gauge occasionally drops and comes back after a little bit.

I'm wondering if the PCM is bad or if there's a short somewhere causing these codes to be thrown and the loss of power. What do you folks think?

P0132 - 1/1 O2 SENSOR SHORTED TO VOLTAGE, could be the o2 heater as shorted internally and that is why you are getting this code. It is sensor one bank one whick would be the upstream o2 on the drivers side. Code 463 is for your fuel sender and the computer is seeing to the voltage being to high. I would reset the codes and road test if the o2 code returns replace that sensor first. Also probably your fuel level unit in the tank is going to require replacement. Good luck
