This is an older CCD bus PCM like '96-'01 truck. I had contacted Hot Wire Auto and they recommended Performance Injection Equipment for this PCM. However they haven't answered my email and can't get them on the phone, that makes me a little leery to start with. I believe Hughes Engines uses them but I'm not 100% sure on that.

I know some will say to go stand alone injection but having been a tech for over 4 decades I'm very familiar with the factory injection, and parts availability is also better. So if any one knows of a good place that writes custom tunes for this style PCM I would appreciate the help. Thanks.

Have you looked at hypertech or Diablo sport?

I guess I should have specified that I need a custom tune. I'm going from an OBD1 93 5.2 to OBD2 in a 74 truck so it can be tuned for a cam, intake and headers. I have a PCM from an automatic truck going into a stick truck so I would like to tune that out as well as the downstream O2 sensor if possible since it won't have a catalytic converter.

Thanks for the suggestion though. I'll edit the title and OP.

Can OBD2 be made to deal with a lopey cam? The MAP sensor is thrown out of wack by reversion and that throws the computer off, right?

Yes, Chris at Performance Injection tuners crafted my tune about 5 years ago to work with a 108* LSA & 246* INT / 252* EXH duration at .050 cam. He nailed the tune in 3 steps from across the country.

Not sure whats going on with him these days, but he is very good at tuning.

you are changing over to the jtec pcm right? will the pcm have to communicate with the dash? Flyinryanperformance I'm not sure if he will do the auto to stick though.
There is also BG chrysler, they have a guy that does custom tunes, some guys have had luck with them doing the auto to stick.

Yeah, check out frptuning.com (Flyin Ryan Perfomance). I'm not sure what he can do for your specific circumstance, but he'll let you know.

Thanks guys. Yes I'm changing to the JTEC. The dash will be from the 93 so I think all I need from that is the speedometer and A/C compressor. Or I may just piggy back this in to run the engine and leave the SBEC controller for the dash and A/C compressor. Trying to figure my options here. My full schematics arrived yesterday so I'll be going over them today. I'll check out Flyin Ryan.

I did a magnum swap in my wrangler, I kept The same bus system though, so I didn't "have" to have any tuning done, also an not certain about the dash. I wanted to get a tune but it gets pretty expensive. I also really wanted to go to a manual trans, but I had a complete auto donor, and figured if I could eliminate needing any kind of tuning then I should go that route. A lot of guys doing them were switching to manual and getting custom tunes on them though.

The dash has nothing to do with this years Jtek's. You can get a 1999 Dodge manual trans truck PCM from SOLO PCM's in Florida. A good tuner can turn off most if not all of the non-desirable functions of the PCM. You also want to make sure you don't have the key with the chip version, which that year truck does not.

If you want to skip all this dated technology, go with the new Holley HP or Terminator stuff or even a complete kit of Pro-Flo 4 from Edelbrock. My buddy just put the Eddie unit on his 440 and is having great luck with it.
