OK, I went out in the garage and pulled the trim ring off the 14” rally?
Per your date wheel mine is
Month 8.
Day27.
Part number 2944252.
It has been painted, I can’t tell the plant, it is blurry.
With car build date late September, I think these rallys could be original to car.what is your opinion.
Is there no year stamp?

The year designator is under the plant code.

M is Motor Wheel.

Check another wheel if you can not read the one you checked?

Photos can help also.

I upload my photos from my PC, nothing else needed.

Check the other wheels under the M when you have time & report back.

Would this be true on a superbird too?

Anybody want to decode my Goodyear polyglas tires date.
Obviously these are at least 25 years old, or more. I am going to put new ones on my wheels, but I thought it would be interesting to know how old they are.
Stamp code is:
CYLD B5KL056.
Thanks

Thanks so much.
I don’t think they have any value, and they are way too old to drive on
Now on to why it won’t start. Starts with priming carb, but stops when fuel is used from priming.
Won’t start unless primed.
I started a new thread over in the general area.
Thanks.

They gladly did so.
My hometown dealership changed out a set of 14 inch rallyes off a new 72 Cuda replacing them with 14 inch magnums from a 72 Satellite because the then purchaser of the new Satellite, a former school classmate of mine, liked the rallye wheel look.
So occasionally, changes happened to new cars at dealerships before they even left the lot.

This happens more than people think. If you have ever worked at a new car dealership service department you will know this is not at all unusual.

The dates on the wheels for this Challenger convertible are really nice and everyone is warm and fuzzy, thats great. But is doesn’t prove what it came with from the factory with. How many years have people been seeking out proper dated parts for these cars? How many cars had custom wheels on day 2?

Absolutely,
I have the car traced back to 1973.
Before that, who knows.
Although it was pretty original when I bought it in 2000.
