Unless they're going to add 2 cells, it's a transformer.

I assume you mean your alternator being converted to 16V from a 12V. I have done it both ways with an East Coast alternator. IMO just buy a new one and sell the 12V one. You end up in about the same place money wise.

16v battery, alternator, battery charger for the shop, and make sure everything in the car is compatible. A fairly sizable investment, but a good one if your program can benefit. Not worth it to a lot of people.
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

I did back to back tests on the same day back when I was running 8.40’s in my Daytona and saw nothing. And that was before I started running an alternator.

I would not expect to find any performance gains going from 16 volt from 12, not even a consideration. Why would it be?? My stuff cranks faster, cools better/quicker and takes longer to get to temp with 16V than it did with a 12v. The reason I wont do anything but 16V in a racecar anymore. Our dragster has 16V with an alternator and never needs to see the charger. Cools down in just a few minutes and cranks like mad. Same with the Stratus, just one 6lb 16V lithium in it, cranks considerably faster than it did with a 16V AGM.
