Good day hopefully someone has had the same problems I'm having. I have a 2003 dodge Dakota quad cab with the 4.7 and I'm constantly getting the evap code p0440 ive changed the gas cap some robber lines did a smoke test and replaced the tank leak detection pump .after clearing the code it last about a day then the light will come on again I'm pulling my hair out and I dnt wanna replace every piece in that system any help thanks

AS long as you looked REAL good for cracks in all those hoses under truck, and did replace that vac pump thingy, that only leaves filler cap, and those usually are not bad.

there is only 2 items left to replace the vapor tank and a pump by the battery this is getting expensive

My 06 Ram I replaced a lot of items for the emission code until I finally found out the problem. It was the top of the fuel pump module was cracked. I would occasionally smell gas at the fuel filler area and decided to drop the tank. All good after that. After I talked to a former Mopar tech and he said he had seen a few like that in those years.

thanks ill check that area I did a smoke test but saw no leaking this is a real pain
