I installed a transbrake button on my steering wheel, but am having some issues with the coiled wires (Got the biondo button with the coiled wire already attached). I can only get about a turn and half each way from the steering wheel before the wires are snug. I temporary attached the end of the coil to the dash about where the gauge cluster is. It seems to use the 1st half the coil towards the switch, but the end half doesn't get used. Can you guys post some pictures of how you have your buttons and wires mounted. My car is a 75 duster with a stock wheel and steering column.

I had transbrake and line loc on the wheel. Long coil cords with quick connects at the base of the column. Rack & pinion so the steering wheel didn't have to spin 6 turns. Cords had some slack in them and worked fine. Had to watch you didn't get your feet in them getting in the car, but there was no issue once you were in.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

On the steering wheel for me always. Zip tie or secure a part of the cable close to switch to the steering wheel and if need be on the dash end as well. The cord will stretch quite a but securing the button end to the wheel will keep the stress off of it. We have three buttons on the dragster wheel as well and those wheels get turned a fair amount driving to and from the lanes and off track. The dragsters cords are secured on both ends my car is only on the wheel, with two cords, one for brake one for the chutes. Been doing it this way for years with zero issue doing it this way

Yes it is a good idea to zip tie cord at the wheel as the weight and movement of the cord will break the wires off the switch.

it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

I used phone jacks at the cord ends. Left it disconnected from the wheel until the burnout box. Pulled it out at the end of the run.
