Want to switch a fixed fan to clutch style. Have 3 3/4" between snout and radiator. The spacer that's on it now allows the blades to just barely hit the power steering shaft also.
Would I be better of with a clutch fan or just find a spacer 1/4" longer a keep the fixed? Is parasitic loss or the cfm moved matter that much to switch between the two?

Shortest clutch I know of, specs in the link

Jag clutch

This one is a bit taller

Other Jag clutch

Of course you will need a new fam, buy on a bit smaller in diameter to clear your P/S.

The short Jag one is still shorter and the 2947 isn't specifically for mopars either.

The clutch fan is quieter and safer. The clutch acts as speed governor to an extent and reduces chance of blades coming apart. Hopefully one of those clutches works for you.
